Performing for Tucson audiences since 1972, Arizona Opera annually presents five productions in both Tucson and Phoenix. Under the guidance and leadership of General Director David Speers, Arizona Opera's 2000-2001 30th Anniversary Season encompasses five main stage productions in Tucson and Phoenix: Rossini's The Barber of Seville, Bizet's Carmen, Puccini's The Girl of the Golden West, Donizetti's The Daughter of the Regiment, and Verdi's Don Carlo and two recital concerts featuring the world's brightest operatic stars, Jerry Hadley and Denyce Graves.
